• Find a cause you are passionate about. 
• Search for your cause on http://www.charitynavigator.org/
  • I personally like to use the charity that uses majority of their donations to the cause.  For instance Operation Homefront gives 92% of their dollars to help the troop and only 4% goes to paying management.
• Reach out to the charity.  Many have a way to donate directly to the charity with you as the sponsor.  I did this for my Birthday.  Of course people can write checks directly to the charity.
• You just helped the World become a better place for humanity.
