Dollar in December 

In December, many different holidays are celebrated. For most of these holidays, children receive gifts. When I was 11, I used "Donate Your  B-Day" as inspiration and asked all my family members for a dollar along with a gift. I thought a dollar from each person, would raise a substantial amount of money which I would eventually donate to a charity. Everyone was inspired by the idea and ended up raising $100 that I donated to the "American Diabetes Association".
